This is the third in my series of painting watercolors of salt water fish, an Orange Angel Fish. I still have my head above water while I am painting an underwater scene. These paintings are fun to do. I drop the colors onto paper that has been misted with water and watch the colors mix and make other colors as they spread into the water on the paper. The small white areas are dry paper. Well, there is a little more to it than that. These paintings started because a friend owns a beach house and wanted something beachy. Tell me what ya think and also if you are interested in a beachy painting.

Here is the second Angel Fish watercolor painting I've done. I am finding that these beautiful fish are really exciting to paint. The colors I am using to paint them with are what I see in underwater scenes in magazines, movies, internet, etc. I have never been snorkling or diving before. The only time I went under water at the beach was from a huge wave, splat, spit and sputter...! My husband, Tommy and daughter Leigh, have gone snorkling. They can tell you how beautful the salt water fish are. Oh wait, they just said to tell ya "they ARE beautiful"...! I hope you enjoy the painting. Thank you for viewing.

I painted a salt water fish as a commission for a friend. I thought it looked pretty darn good, so I decided to paint a series of them. I named this one Blue Angel Fish. It is a watercolor and I created the coral with mostly negative painting. It is hard to beleive that such beautiful colors can exist under the ocean. The colors seem to be brighter than above the water in some cases. Check out my website for more paintings. Tell me what you think. Thanks for viewing.
